Daryaganj

Stretching up to almost 2 km the Daryaganj Book Market in Old Delhi is a road stacked with second-hand books on both sides. Browse through thousands of books, magazines, children’s books and stumble upon hidden literary treasures for dirt-cheap prices. The market is only set up on Sundays. The key is to go early.

Timings: Sunday. 10 am to 5 pm
How to Reach: Take metro to Chandini Chowk or Chawari Bazaar

Nai Sarak

Another Old Delhi destination for book lovers, Nai Sarak is a treasure trove for books and stationary items. If you plan to restock your bookshelf then you can’t do better than this popular bibliophile haunt. Bring back bags full of old books attained for as low as 100 bucks.

Timings: Monday to Saturday. 11:30 am to 6 pm
How to Reach: Take metro to Chandini Chowk then hop on a rickshaw.

Janpath

Next time you visit Janpath, give the fashion street a miss and head for this sidewalk crammed with piles of books. Lose yourself in the joy of scanning for books and start filling up your bag with your inexpensive purchases. The bonus of shopping here is if you return a book bought from them, they chop off half the price.

Connaught Place

Post book shopping in Janpath, drive through it’s neighbor Connaught Place where more paperbacks await you. Touch the F Block to the lane adjacent to PVR Plaza and find yourself in the heaven for book lovers. You will get books here as cheap as 80 Rs going up to 200 Rs.

Shankar Market

Shankar Market is one of the oldest local markets in Delhi and has several bookshops selling a vast selection of fiction & non-fiction books. Thriller fans will find their every need catered to at Ram Gopal Sharma & Sons where you can get the likes of Dan Brown to John Grisham.
