Conveniently located Near Parliament house, close to central secretariat, the museum is placed inside the library building of the parliament. Opened in 1989 the amazing museum displays a rich collection of historical facts which gives a deep insight about the development of different democratic institutions and democracy in India. This is done through an outstanding usage of innovative hi tech gadgets of light and sound, interactive computer, multi- media audio, visual and animation techniques. The important landmarks in history of this nation are recreated, especially democratic heritage and traditions starting from the Vedic times with special emphasis on the Emperor Ashok, the Buddhist councils, the Republic village, and the freedom struggle. Photography is not allowed.
