Backpacking trip to India

Undeniably, India is a dream country for every backpacker. Backpacking is an enjoyable and appealing means of travel. Backpacking means everything related to your trip to your pack on your back. It includes relevant clothes according to the weather, food, personals, some medicines, and many more.

While you are planning to enjoy a backpacking trip to India then you must keep in mind some points like at which weather it is good to enjoy the backpacking trip to India, the proper destination as per the weather, what kind of things you need to pack, etc.

The backpacking trip to India is not similar to a backpacking trip to western countries. While backpacking, A person also thinks about his/her safety during the trip. Well, In my opinion, it is completely safe to go on a backpacking trip to India. There are so many backpacking destinations in India where you will feel safe. In each and every city, there are so many economy hotels where you can stay and enjoy your trip. Also, you can enjoy the local region of every city.

Also during your trip to India, you will be surprised by seeing the helping nature of the local people as they are always ready to help others. So if you think that is it safe to go for a backpacking trip to India, then my answer is definitely yes! Also while this backpacking trip, you need to keep in mind some points which will help you during the trip:

· It is very important to keep your eyes on your belongings at all times as more likely foreigner travelers are the victims of petty crimes. · If possible, buy a local sim card as it will help you to connect with your local friends you meet during your way and also write down some important numbers of your friends as it will help you if you lost your phone somewhere. · Most of the Indians are very kind and good to you but aware of some hooligan person. Think before trusting anyone. · Avoid traveling after the sunset as it is unsafe traveling after the sunset in some areas. · If you are traveling during the month of April-July, then you must carry some summer clothes like a cotton T-shirt, comfortable loose pants, Sunglasses, Hat, or Cap.

If you are traveling during July – September, then you need to carry T-shirts or Full Sleeves Shirts, etc. but don’t forget to carry an umbrella or a raincoat with you as this is the time when the tiny drops of rain touch the ground and

If you are traveling during the month of October-March, then carry some winter clothes like jackets, gloves, scarves, etc. · Carry some lighter stuff in your backpack as it will be easier for you to travel with your backpack.

Why choose India for a backpacking trip? Well, it is a common question that will arise in each and every backpacker. In my opinion, India is a good place to enjoy your backpacking trip as it offers you a wide variety of services at very reasonable prices. One can always elect to stay at budget boutique hotels and dine in at affordable but clean restaurants. You can also try some street food from India(Personally, I love the street food of India and I would like to recommend it to you as well). Some of the dishes have become very popular all around the world

There is a wide variety of beautiful locations in India where you can enjoy your backpacking trip. If we are talking about beaches, adventurous places, spiritual places, or Hill stations, then India is a place where you will find all these places. Below is the list of some places to go for a backpacking trip and enjoy your time like never before:

Parvati Valley

Parvati valley is a popular place amongst the backpackers. It’s about 515 Km approx. away from New Delhi. On the way to Parvati Valley, you can witness some beautiful and amazing views of mountains. Situated in the state of Himachal Pradesh, Parvati valley has some extra splendid trekking pathways and descending waterfalls. The best time to travel to this place is between April, May, October, and November.

Pathankot

Pathankot is a wonderful and sparkling place to enjoy the backpacking trip to India. It is located around 482 Km approx. away from New Delhi. This district touches the three northern states of India – Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir. There are numerous gigantic mountains, dense forests, and beautiful rivers. The best time to travel to Pathankot is between October to April.

Munnar

This city is one my all time favourite place to visit in India. Located in the southern part of India, this beautiful hill station has some breathtaking views. This hill station is also an attractive place for a backpacker as here you can enjoy the wide range of tea gardens and coffee gardens as well. Also, you can enjoy some adventure sports like Paragliding, Mountain biking, etc.Munnar is open round the year but to get the best of it, one should travel to Munnar between April to June to relax and get away from the scorching heat of the summer.

Varanasi

Every backpacker must visit the city - Varanasi. Located in the state named Uttar Pradesh, the city of Varanasi also known as the spiritual capital of India is a city of religion. It is the oldest city in the world and according to a survey, it is around 5000 years old. Varanasi is famous for its culture, rituals, customs, and tradition. The Ganga Aarti (Worship of river Ganga) is famous from the traveler point of view. The best time to visit Varanasi is between winter months (November to February).

Darjeeling

Darjeeling is an all-time favorite place for the backpackers. Darjeeling is situated in the state named West Bengal. During your stay in Darjeeling, you can enjoy visiting tea gardens, aromatic coffee plantations, and good weather. Also, don’t forget to take the local toy train ride when you are visiting Darjeeling. The best time to travel to this place is from April to June.

During my backpacking trip to India, I was a bit worried about the places, people but when I explored this beautiful country, my point of view changed totally. The people I have met during my trip, they all were very kind and helpful towards me. I also visited some of these places which I have mentioned above and I have enjoyed it a lot.
