Delhi - India's capital and a major gateway to the country, contemporary Delhi is a bustling metropolis which successfully combines in its fold the ancient and the modern. **DELHI GOLF CLUB** The 6972 yards, PAR 72, 18 Hole Golf Course was redesigned by Peter Thompson in 1977 - 78 and got a major flip when it was chosen to host the first ever golf tournament at the Asian Games in 1982. More than 500 Golfers walk into history every day, as they play in the country's busiest course. The Club also has a Nine Hole B Course used primarily by beginners. The first hole on the main course is a 522 yards, PAR 5, which doglegs to the left around a thorny bush rough. **CLASSIC GOLF RESORT** The Classic Golf Resort has been constructed according to international standards and is world class in every respect. The process of sourcing construction material to meet international standards and the process of sending soil, sand, water, manure and grass samples overseas to recommended Nicklaus Research centers for tests was completed in 1996 before the course opened officially for play. Special Tiff way 419 and Tiff Dwarf grass used world-wide on Nicklaus courses has been planted and multiplied under the full care and guidance of Nicklaus agronomists. Rainbird, the world leaders in golf course irrigation, laid down CGR's irrigation network. The installed set up consists of computerized system with satellite controls for remote operation of sprinkler head groups and rain water run off protection, making CGR virtually self sufficient in its irrigation needs. To ensure adherence to Nicklaus quality standards, the Paragon Golf Construction Company intermittently assigned golf experts from the fields of construction, agronomy and maintenance to survey the course. A team of international supervisors was stationed in Delhi for two years during the construction process. Landbase has tied up with Golden Bear International Club Services, a part of Golden Bear International USA to conceptualize, plan and set up standard operating procedures for the Golf & Country Club. Golden Bear experts visit India frequently to co-ordinate implementation plans with the planning and execution team at Classic Golf Resort. The versatility of Nicklaus design is such, that to transform the course from a club golfer-friendly layout, to a challenging open championship venue, a mere change of fairway width, height of rough, green speed and pin positions are required. Specifications for each of the above changes have been provided for the Wills Indian Open by Nicklaus Design. This fusion of international experience with Indian expertise, indigenous adaptation of globally accepted materials and processes as well as the constant adherence to quality standards is what makes the Classic Golf Resort a truly world class championship venue. • Holes - 27 • Yardage - 7114 • Par- 72

Itinenary

Day 01

Arrive in Delhi

On Day 1, you are welcomed to the ancient city of Delhi, which has witnessed the rise and fall of many empires. Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be received by our official representative who will give you a warm welcome and will help you in every way. You will then be transferred to a blissfully air-conditioned vehicle that will take you straight to your hotel. Our representative will assist you to check in and will leave you to settle in. Use the remaining day to relax. Overnight is at the hotel.

Day 02

Delhi

After freshening up, spend the entire morning enjoying a round of golf at Classic Golf Resort, which has a world-class golf course based on Nicklaus design. Its challenging layout will keep you occupied throughout the morning. In the afternoon, visit the famous heritage landmarks around Delhi and soak in some of the local culture of the city. Qutub Minar, Humayuns Tomb, India Gate, Lakshminarayan Temple, are some of the beautiful monuments you will visit. You can catch the passing glimpse of Presidents House, Parliament House, Government Secretariat Buildings and Connaught Place shopping centre on the way to your hotel.

Day 03

Delhi

Start your 3rd day of the tour by going to Delhi Golf Club for a stimulating round of golf. Stretched across 6972 yards, this 18 hole golf course was redesigned by Peter Thompson in 1977-78. It was also the site for golf tournament at Asian Games in 1982. Return to the hotel to freshen up before leaving for a sightseeing tour in the afternoon. Pay your respects at Raj Ghat, the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawahar lal Nehru. Move on to explore the majestic architectural beauty of Jama Masjid and Red Fort. You will drive past the colorful bazar of Chandini Chowk.

Day 04

Delhi / Back Home

You will be leaving for home on this day. Utilize your leisurely morning to complete your remaining packing. Dont forget your souvenirs. Relax a bit and enjoy a luxurious breakfast. Check out of your hotel at sharp 1200 hours. Our representative will help you transfer your luggage and settle you in an air-conditioned vehicle. You will be taken straight to the airport for your connecting flight for your onward journey. This journey of the old and new will forever be endeared to you.
